The author is a Navy Officer "on loan" to the industry who established Officine Panerai in 1972 and managed it for thirty years. He has gathered and told, in a simple and clear language, a collection of news, including much hitherto unknown information, of valuable data (those concerning the divers watches will be much appreciated by collectors), of interesting notes and considerations and of intriguing episodes.

The book covers numerous patents, studies and projects and many significant products (even if those protected by military secrecy had to be left out), mostly developed for the Italian Navy from as early as World War 1

Those who only know PANERAI for its famous watches will discover that this historic Florentine company was a breeding ground for creativity in many diverse research sectors.
